Today I was able to practice a meditation and think I may be making some headway in getting to that meditative state others speak of. My mind is a very active yet I was able to get into a state where I no longer was consumed by my thoughts. I think this is what I am after. Meditation is a completely foreign thing to me and practicing it is something I am doing on my own so any helpful guidance or suggestions on technique and application would be appreciated.
I have recently joined a Google circle for Buddhist and have started to make some connections with people who are practitioners or are interested in learning more about Buddhism. I hope
to learn from these new sources of information and be able to bring some clarity in regards to practice and application of the Buddhist lifestyle and teachings. With so much information at our fingertips things can become quite confusing and the sheer amount of information can be overwhelming. Having a joined a Buddhist discussion group and meeting some new people is allowing me to learn more and help myself and others along in their quest for knowledge and ultimately our quest for inner peace.
As I am new to Buddhism and meditation practices please take what I say with a grain of salt. I am speaking from my own personal view point and this blog is basically about my personal journey. I appreciate any advice, suggestions, or wisdom from anyone who feels so inclined to share that information with me. Peace.
